As many of you know, I have 5 Moms! Two of them live in CA and it has been a tough start to the year. 

Debe, lost her house in the fires, however, she and her partner Martha are doing ok. They just got an apartment and are lucky to have great insurance. Thank you to all who reached out to check on them and me.

The other, Nancy, is not doing well. She has had a slew of health issues from heart attacks to breast cancer. She was doing some uber driving on the side and thankfully was not driving when she passed out before a good samaritan called an ambulance. She was hospitalized for a week and still has stuff going on that is requiring her to see specialists and get as much rest as possible so she can recover.

Many ask where I got my entrepreneurial spirit from, and it is from her. She spent most her life helping women business owners grow their businesses. She started her company, Women’s Referral Service in 1977! I could write a book on everything I learned from her and all the amazing women I was surrounded by. She, being self sufficient like me, finds it sometimes hard to ask for help, but we are asking.

Since she cannot work she needs help getting back on her feet with immediate bills and medical expenses. I know this is a tough time for many and it is never easy to ask.

Right now she only gets a small Social Security check and is on medicaid so setting up a GoFundMe could impact these benefits. With the current administration doing the worst, I don’t want to take the risk. So I am reaching out to everyone I know and asking for donations, no matter how small. If you are not in a place to donate, do not feel obligated. If you can spare even small amounts can add up.

I plan on moving her to a lower cost senior housing situation and we are working on lowering some of the utility bills she has, but rent is the biggest expense along with her medical needs.
